Glancy Nicholls Architects were commissioned by LPC Living to carry out the architectural duties and develop the construction information to completion following experience gained working with Travelodge on a previous scheme.
The scheme entails 3 retail units at ground floor level, including a TK Maxx store. This store is currently open and trading, with two further retailers due to commence fit out. Above the ground floor, the site is sub-divided into two wings – one wing consists of an 80-bed Travelodge Hotel spread over six floors, with the other wing consisting of 5 floors of ApartHotel accommodation.
The development is located on a very compact site which is situated adjacent Hackney Central Overground station on Amhurst Road, Hackney, London. The inner-city scheme included obvious elements of urban design, with the overall project being delivered on time and within budget.
