Won through competition, we demonstrated the understanding of the key drivers of working within a live school environment, seeking value-added benefits as the design progressed.
We undertook a master-planning exercise to review the issues surrounding how the school operated. By highlighting issues on safeguarding, wayfinding and site safety, we proposed siting the new standalone nine-classroom building that was intentionally public facing. Celebrated by a new two-storey canopy, graphics, and lighting, the school was able to incorporate the main entrance into the proposal, alleviating issues on safeguarding while outwardly celebrating the school with a modern interface.
The building utilised efficient form, ensuring budgets were focused on feature architectural and landscaping strategies to support the idea this building creates a new gateway to the school.
