When GNA was established in 2004, Shackleton Hall was the company’s first refurbishment commission. In 2013, the University decided the facilities required refreshing.
The latest redevelopment consisted of a ground floor refurbishment of the existing student facilities.
The brief was to redesign three existing spaces including the main dining space for residing students, the bar area and the pizza shack. The overall aim of the project was to create a central hub within ‘The Vale’ student village in Edgbaston.
The main design driver was to create an individual identity for each of the spaces. This was achieved through re-branding and redesign of each of the areas. The main challenge on site was the tight construction programme of just twelve weeks.
