Glancy Nicholls Architects were appointed to design the new University of Wolverhampton city campus courtyard.
The design features a series of raised and planted landscaped lawns, capable of barrier-free access and planned around the multiple access points and pathways crossing the area between the library and various catering/teaching spaces. Developing what was previously an unloved space, the design now provides an attractive student-centred environment.
We successfully worked together with staff, students and estates teams to provide an external environment which is now suitable for a range of events, informal meetings and social spaces, with the capability of being able to introduce marquees and big screens.
“We are delighted to have completed the redevelopment of our City Campus Courtyard. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to investing in our facilities to ensure they have access to excellent learning and social spaces.
“It was a pleasure to open the new-look Courtyard to our students and staff, and it promises to be a real hub for social activities on campus.”
