As part of the Free Schools initiative, GNA, alongside Morgan Sindall, were appointed to deliver a Sikh Faith School in Wolverhampton. In collaboration with the Department for Skills and Education, we worked with Khalsa Academies Trust to transform a vacant office development and associated land into a highly successful secondary school.
The redevelopment of the former Tarmac headquarters site faced many challenges, including contaminated land, extensive mine shafts, subsidence of land affecting existing buildings and an odour abatement issue. We successfully overcame all challenges through a collaborative approach to design and build. This helped us achieve a safe and educational environment for all to use.
